The only fins I haven’t discovered are fanned, finless, great-sail and tiger as for the bodies, only pigmy and quicksilver.

Too bad I didn’t create my blog as I started playing Fish Tycoon or I could have taken screen shots most of the breeds I found from early game.

Here’s the list of the breeds I discovered. The column shows the different fins from Canary to Wasp while the top row shows the different bodies from Arrowfish to Stickfish which totals 21 fins and 21 bodies.

The number in each cell is the price of the said breed, if blank, I haven’t discovered that breed. To help me monitor the numbers of breeds I haven’t found yet, I added a formula on each end of columns and rows – those are the numbers in red. The formula was to count the blank cells from a specific range of cells and display them so I don’t have to count the number of fins or bodies breeds I still need to find.

Why am I a Fish Tycoon?

I’m not fond of fishes but I found myself addicted to this game because the fact that I discover different types of fish and breeding them is motivating. My aim is not to get the 7 Magical Fishes but to get all the breeds with the different types of bodies and fins. So I made a list of the breeds I discovered and currently found 3 Magical Fishes – Fertility, Sustenance (this fish helped me reach $7k) and the Golden Guppy I sold each for $230 and this helped me get $16,765 fast.

For you guys who have a hard time with the game let me give you a head start. The instruction below already gave you a hint of the glitch and I didn’t figure it out until I searched cheats about fish tycoon.
I said glitch instead of cheat because it is a loophole in the game’s programming code. You can change the system clock of your computer to an hour advance or more. This way your fishes grow in seconds instead of the actual time.

You may think that while your computer is off your fishes are growing. Nope. It’s a simulation game that works only if the computer is on. What happens when the computer is off? – Nothing. I think the game will save the current system time when you turned it off. When you turn on the computer, it will check the system time and compare it with the saved system time when the computer was turned off. If it notices the change of time and the interval, that’s when it runs specific commands which I think are also random like fishes getting sick and what type of sickness.

As a programming student myself, if I created this game I’d test it for errors and glitches like this. The creators could have put an error code if the game noticed change of system time but the problem is how the game could tell if it was programmed to check the change in time then run the necessary commands like fishes growing, dying, starving and so on.

I used the time glitch to my advantage sold my fishes diligently so I was able to raise 16,000 dollars. Mind you I had a hard time breeding fishes before I used it and only got 1,000 dollars in almost two days with other 2 players I created. So I ditched the other 2 players and focused on one only. I’ll be posting photos of fish breeds and some list as well. Happy fish breeding!
